Common questions
Captures come out as just the desktop, or nothing happens
ScreenLasso needs screen recording permission. Open System Settings › Privacy & Security › Screen & System Audio Recording, turn on ScreenLasso, then quit and reopen it.
Where do my screenshots go?
To the clipboard, and to the folder chosen in ScreenLasso › Settings › General if saving to a folder is on. You can change both there.
How do I change the shortcuts?
In ScreenLasso › Settings › Shortcuts. Click a shortcut and press the keys you want.
Which formats can it save?
Images as WebP, AVIF, JPEG, PNG and HEIC. Videos and animations as MP4, MOV, GIF and animated WebP. ScreenLasso opens the image formats macOS can read.
How do I connect an AI agent?
Open ScreenLasso › Settings › AI Agents and turn on Let AI agents use ScreenLasso. Then use the button for your app: Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or VS Code. For other apps, copy the JSON configuration. The agent can open images in your Pictures folder and in folders you allow on the same page.
An agent says it can’t open a file
ScreenLasso can only use the Pictures folder and folders you allow. Choose Allow a Folder… in Settings › AI Agents and pick the folder, or ask the agent to send the image itself.
An agent can’t connect
Check that ScreenLasso is running and the setting says it’s running on this Mac. If you made a new key, set the agent up again with the new one.
