Privacy policy

ScreenLasso is a Mac app. This policy explains what the app and this website do with your information; “we” means the developer of ScreenLasso. The short version: the app works entirely on your Mac and doesn’t collect anything about you.
The ScreenLasso app
What stays on your Mac
Everything ScreenLasso works with is kept on your Mac and is never sent to us:
- Screenshots and the images, videos and folders you open, edit or convert.
- Colors, palettes and color history.
- Your presets, shortcuts and settings.
- The folders you allow the app to use, which macOS remembers for it.
Deleting the app removes this data, except files you saved to your own folders.
What we don’t do
- No account or sign-in.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking, and no third-party code that does any of these.
- The app makes no connections to our servers or anyone else’s.
Screen recording
macOS asks you to allow screen recording so ScreenLasso can capture the screen and pick colors from it. The app reads the screen only when you start a capture, a color pick or a QR scan, and only keeps what you choose to save or copy.
AI agents
If you turn on Let AI agents use ScreenLasso in Settings, the app runs a server that only accepts connections from apps on the same Mac (127.0.0.1) that present your key. It’s off until you turn it on.
When an AI app such as Claude, Codex, Cursor or VS Code uses ScreenLasso, the images, colors or results it asks for are given to that app. What that app does with them, including sending them to its AI service, is covered by that app’s own privacy policy, not this one. Screen capture and color picking for agents are a separate setting, and ScreenLasso asks you each time before anything from your screen is given to an agent.
Information Apple shares with us
If you download ScreenLasso from the Mac App Store and agree to share analytics with app developers in macOS, Apple may share crash reports and usage statistics with us. Apple doesn’t identify you in them. You can change this in System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements.
This website
screenlasso.com doesn’t use cookies, analytics or advertising. It’s hosted by Vercel, which handles each request and, like any web server, processes your IP address and browser details to deliver the page and protect the service. See Vercel’s privacy policy.
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to reply and help you, and delete them when they’re no longer needed for that.
Your rights
Because the app doesn’t collect personal data, there is usually nothing for us to show, correct or delete. If you’ve emailed us, you can ask what we hold and have it deleted. These rights apply under laws such as the GDPR and Türkiye’s Personal Data Protection Law (KVKK).
Children
ScreenLasso doesn’t knowingly collect information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update this page and the date above.
